A rapidly growing CMO specialising in the production of peptides, wanted to strengthen their training process to cope with a substantial increase in staff recruitment. In order to improve the efficiency of the training process, they were looking for solutions to go beyond traditional training through procedure reading and mentoring in the production area. Two contextual elements should be highlighted for this mission:

– The diversity of their activities and operations, the length of production processes mean that it traditionally takes several months to make an operator autonomous on one production line.
– There is no team of trainers dedicated to this task: it is the senior operators who undertake this role, with as much goodwill as diversity in their pedagogical approach, but limited time and to the detriment of production.

SQIVI was hired to create a set of easy-to-understand educational videos to support training manuals. After working closely with the field teams to understand the details of the processes, SQIVI illustrated each action and procedure with a series of videos (or explanatory animations) on various topics, ranging from handling production equipment to using safety equipment.

In order to integrate these training videos into a global training course, SQIVI also created training tools to standardize the program:
– Production line training checklists: This tool allows both the trainer to deliver a standardized and complete training, and the trainee to measure the path to be taken and their personal progress.
– Evaluation questionnaires: Used both for self-assessment and to guarantee tangible proof of the effectiveness of the training, this tool has been integrated into the videos to make the training experience more dynamic and engaging.

Results

After the implementation of these training videos, the company noticed a significant improvement in its staff’s understanding of technical processes. The integration time of new staff was reduced by 60%, and procedural errors also decreased.
In addition, the staff gave positive feedback on the videos, stating that they made learning both more interesting and more accessible. Thanks to the help of SQIVI, the company was able to improve its operational efficiency while strengthening its culture of continuous learning.
